Hello

My new sony KP-51WS510 manual says:

" When you have connected the DTV receiver, you can enjoy digital TV programs. This projection TV is capable of receving 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i digital formats( note that 720p is displayed as 480p)"

From what I read from this forum, most RVPT only has one native format, which is 1080i. All the other formats will be converted to the native format when displaying. But the manual seems hint that this sony set can display two formats, 1080i and 480p, and 720p is not converted to 1080i, instead, it is converted to 480p. Am I wrong?

That is correct. It is not a big deal because most hd channels are broadcast in 1080i. I think(?) abc is the only one that broadcast in 720p. It's not that great for games though becase many of them are 720p, but the 480p looks good, just not as good.

Good choice on your TV.
