twc is adding them on 2-12 , for those that have these 2 channels do you think it is worth it? i'm very unhappy about it and probably won't have it added to my hd lineup.

NHL hockey and Hotlines enough said!

Actually it’s a pretty interesting channel IMO. They have HD college basketball that looks razor sharp (better than ESPN HD), NHL games, some MSL soccer, and some interesting shows like forensic factor, Across America and so on. I hear a lot of complaints about HDNet movies, but the channel isn’t meant to show first run movies. A lot of the movies are dated, but they offer quite a variety. I’ve seen movies that I have never seen in my life until this channel popped up (Freeway, Harper, Wild Things) with outstanding PQ, and quite frankly very entertaining……………In the end it’s your hard earn money. Wait to see if TWC will offer a free preview.

I don't know all of the differences between TWC in Houston and San Antonio, but for $6.50 per month ($5 if you subscribe to any of their DigiPic packages) you get ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS hi-def; Discovery HD, Fox Sports Net HD, INHD & INHD2, HDNet & HDNet Movies as well as HBO or Showtime hi-def. Seems like $3 just for the HDNet stuff is a little steep

for $7 a month i get the same channels as you do except no fox sports net hd and none of the hdnet channels. so i pay 50 cents more for 3 less channels. ok something is not right with this picture!

It must be a local TWC thing - I believe that the guys in Austin get the same package that I do.

I'll pay the $3 for college hoops and MLS. We've all spent over $1000 on the TV (many much more) so what's an additional $3 a month? I would speculate (hope) that additional channels would be added at a later date. I think even on HDNET more quality content will be added over time.

We don't really pay $7 for HD, we just pay for the box. If you were a digital subscriber before, there is no difference because the digital box is $7 (or maybe 6). I guess if you only had analog before, then the box is extra.

while it is true that we all have paid alot for our televisions and pay the monthly fee for the, stb the thought of them charging 3 dollars more a month while only adding these 2 channels is what bothers me. if it was $3 for these 2 channels and espnhd and foxsportsnethd then that would be different. i'm still sitting on the fence about adding these 2 channels!

Worth 3 dollars to me.. Bikini Destination, Wild Things and Real Cancun in the last 30 days, not counting the Hockey games and bare fisted cage match fighting.

Just got off the phone with TW to add HD net. They called the package HD Plus . Maybe that adds support to the idea that they plan to add channels to this package in the future.

Yeah, I called on Wednesday, and the rep I got knew exactly what I was taking about, and I was set up with no problems.

If they don't know about HD Net, you may want to mention HD Plus, I think that it what they are calling it. It it out there, I've watched part of the NHL game last night. Channels look good as advertised.

All seem different.

My TWC gives for no extra charge these HD channels.

HBO, Showtime, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS, Fox sports Net, Discovery.

For $6.95 more we get

INHD, INHD2, HDNET and HDMV with more to come.

its worth 3 bucks a month. Ivana on hotlines? o yeahhhhhhhhhh. and the best HD picture in television! more blondes in bikinis please. And the hockey is the clearest sharpest of any broadcast ive seen. puts espnhd to shame.

I think HDNet has the best quality hd I've seen as well. Got some good concerts, bikini destinations, good hockey coverage (although I think new annoucers are needed, really corny and boring) and Andy Ricter's show that was on fox is coming back on HDNet on March 8th!

So what your REALLY saying is you are paying about
11-12 dollars for HBOHD and the same for Showtime HD and then they give you ALL the other HBO and SHOWTIME pan and scan, non HD stuff for free ;)

all i was concerned with was hd so when i signed up for time warner i wanted bare bones cable [cause i wasn't going to watch anything sd] and whatever they offered in hd... what i got and how much it cost me:

basic cable you have to have and the digital box - those are $9.90 and 10.50 [all prices are per month]

with that you get the locals in hd and disc. hd

for $10.50 more you get hbo which brings all the sd hbos and the east and west feed in hd

add in $5.00 for showtime and it's similar to above - tons of sd channels and two hd feeds, again east and west

give the people at time warner an extra $6.95 and you'll get the hd tier pack... right now that includes inhd 1 and 2 and hdnet along with hdnet movies - - in the future... if/when they add hd channels then you get them for free [espn, bravo, whatever....]

so add it all up and for a little over $40 bucks i watch a fair amount of quality hd programming, all of my channels get attention - none are just there and not getting watched.

for the longest i was considering voom - but the killer for me was having to have a land line [phone], which i don't have... that would have tacked on an additional $25 or so... and from what i hear - although voom has plenty of 'HD' channels - the content isn't all that spiffy... i don't want channels that i'm not going to use cause them i'm paying for nothing...

oh well - that's TWC in KC!

This is an old thread so you probably have already decided. $36 bucks for a year of pretty good programming with the best picture quality of all the HD channels? I say it's a no-brainer. I've had HD for 2 weeks and I pay $10 for ESPN HD, Discovery HD, HDNet, and HDnet Movies. And I watch alot of HDNet, concerts, Hockey, Motocross, BIKINI DESTINATIONS....hello!
