Just purchased the Sony Grand Wega 42" Rear projection LCD (KF-42WE610), very happy with it and have been considering whether to add an additonal DVD player to the following collection currently in use:
I have an older 2nd Gen Sony DVP-S3000 and the newer Sony DVP-NC685V to play DVD+R's, etc.
I'm wondering if some of the 'experts' can comment on whether the Samsung DVD-HD931 would NOT provide any better picture on the Sony KF-42WE610, as I understand that it takes all signals and displays 788p, than using say the Sony DVP-NC685V in progressive scan?
The only reason to get the Samsung I've been hearing is for the DVI output but given what the Sony displays, should I get any better picture outputing via DVI to the Sony, from the Samsung, than I would get from the Sony DVP-NC685V, which is currently hooked up the Grand Wega?
Many Thanks!
