Sony KP57WV600

Ok seems lonely in here so I thought I'd post: I have this set. I replaced (returned) a KP-57HW40 for this. Overall, it is much improved over the *HW40s. The image seems sharper and better out to the edges. It seems to have a wider viewing angle.

The glass in front is nice, although somewhat more reflective than the *HW40s screen protector. But, albiet in a very subjective way, it makes the set feel as though it's just a giant CRT-based WEGA. Cool.

There is an addition of an adjustable DRC with three custom settings (honestly, I tweaked these and can't see a difference). The sound doesn't seem quite as full as the *HW40s, so perhaps this is one you should consider a surround sound receiver system with.

I have never seen the upscale model, the 57WV700, so I can't comment on how it differs from that one. The manual supplied with the 57WV600 is the same as that for the 57WV700, so there are no additional features or gizmos with that model. What Sony says is that the `700 has some fancy technology to make the viewing angle really wide. But honestly, the `600's viewing angle is great.

Oh yeah, the Memory Stick slot is useless for me.

Hope that helps potential buyers.

Tom

I got this TV and I love the picture and the design. Price was right and it had the DHCP and DVI stuff so its up to date. Really happy with it!
