What settings does everyone use to watch their DVD movies on on the Grand Wega LCD Projection? I am just curious. Mostly about NR and Mild Mode.

You may wish to use a setup DVD to optimize your own TV.. See the FAQ "What you need to do to your new HDTV".

Looks like we have the same TV.

If you have component outputs on you DVD player, I would suggest using them. If you do, you will not have any setups in the DRC, it will all be automatic. The DRC setup is only for analog signals.

I was told to use the NR at high for all digital signals. I don't know that I can see any difference, but it sure does not hurt.

For mild, cool or warm, I like mild. It is just a personal preference, but cool looks blue and warm looks red and mild seems just right.

summerfun,

What to you mean the setups in the DRC are automatic? I have the 60"xbr950, and according to the manuel, the DRC modes are not available for 480p,720p & 1080i. I have my dvd player, a non-progressive scan (480i), hooked via component cables, and I can manually adjust the DRC modes.

Your right. My mistake, it is not the component cables that disable the DRC, it is a 480p, 720p or 1080i signal that disable the DRC.

I don't send any 480i signals through the component cables, so my DRC is always disabled from component so I made a wrong assumption.

For my 480i S-video DRC setup, I use the CineMotion setting. The other details "clarity" and "reality" I leave in the default settings. I tried moving them around, but never saw any changes.

Enjoy your great new TV, I love mine.
