replay tv connection

Hi need help have hitachi plasma with no tuner, have local cable into vcr, have onyko receiver to which I have vcr into video 1, have voom satellite from plasma to voom receiver to onyko receiverthru component it has dvd built in, and the only way i can get replay to work is connecting audio plugs into tape slot on receiver and plug s video plug in and out to plasma when we want to watch replay I have a separate cable line for replay so we can watch and record at the same time, i tried connecting replay to video 2 on receiver and I either get no sound or no picture, i know there must be a way to connect this but I'm at a loss, I think I tried every possible connection HELP I also have a switcher box in order to receive dvd thru component

Been several months since I "junked" my replay (for a number of reasons), but I think I recall that you have to tell it which outputs you're going to be using (vga/component, s-video, etc... via the setup menu) or else the video won't come out of the appropriate jack. Also, you have to use the correct s-video jack. As I recall, one of them on mine was mis-labeled as an input (you also have to tell it which input you'll be using).
