I could not agree more w/ this article. If ESPN were to go HD, the flood gates would burst wide open. The baseball games on HDNet have been phenomenal - I've found myself habitually watching lowly teams like the Rangers and Blue Jays on HDNet over contenders shown on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball. Immediate interest in HDTV has been sparked everytime I have introduced someone to sports programming on HDNet.
While I don't like the fact Cuban is looking to expand operations by introducing new HDNet pay channels, I'm anxious to see just what he will include in this package. Hopefully he will not rob channel 199 of all sports and start charging for it via the new channels.
In any case, articles like this express the true momentum that has picked up for HDTV over the past few months.
