Voom HD DVR not for a while...

I got this message from their tech support:

This state of the art receiver will incorporate a DVR unit that will allow you to record and playback HD programming in its intended format. We are looking at a release date some time in the third quarter of this year, but at this time no exact release date has been made available. Like anything, 3rd quarter translates into mid to late 4th quarter which translates into lucky by the end of the year. Thats how I feel about the Tivo HD Directv unit that was promised 1st quarter of this year. Unless a miracle happens, the unit wont be showing up in the next 2 weeks.

I put in my order today (waitlist) for the Hughes HD-DVR250. Latest word is from the beg to the middle of April.

I cant wait. I am not usually available Sunday nights to watch the Sopranos so my Tivo records in SD. I am really looking forward to taping normal shows in HD like Sopranos, Dead Like Me and some sitcoms. We've really use Tivo around our schedule but HD forces us to watch at scheduled times. My local Fox and NBC converted the other week so I have more content. Let the countdown begin......
