I thought PBS was partially funded by we the ppl.!

Why is it that they are able to broadcats over 90% of the TIME HDTV material?

I was watching this channel for the past 2 days and I am truly amazed.!!

Why cant the big companies broadcast a majority of their programming in true HDTV formats. I hate these shows with the bars!!

Even though CBS proimetime rocks!!

And i just dound out that I have INHD 1 and 2 I am such a moron!!
UGHH!!

PBS is totally funded by we the people. :)

Taxes from big brother and donations (personal and corporate).

I too enjoy the HD I pay for on PBS :)

If you enjoy PBS, as you say, then become a member - I am and I don't get the tax rebate 'cause I'm in a different country...

(not all PBS affiliates are created equally)

With my affiliate (Detroit), my money goes to the "digital (HD)" side of the station....

I'm not sure if you can specify.

I'm disappointed with PBS-HD over-the-air in my neck of the woods, (Northern N.J.) They're broadcasting at a lower bitrate. It's apparent after just a few minutes of viewing... :(
I hope they're just fine-tuning it, but I'll bet multicasting is the culprit. (The clarity of the HD that PBS was sending off the WTC for a few months in 2001 was awesome.)

Just as an FYI, PBS Detroit multicasts and I'd consider it the best PQ I get, next to a demo loop that Rogers runs on a demo channel. I get 18 HD channels for comparison.
