Hello everybody,
After all the resurch andthe forrum reading I think i finally narrowed it down to 2 brands Hitachi, Toshiba.

Now here where you guys come in I've read the Hitachi has one of the best convergence out now, and DVI input and nothing but great reviews I've read.
Now here comes the Toshiba also great reviews, DVI input great picture on the both of them so I've read in mind never seen any of the sets in real life.I dont want to be turn off by bad calibirated tv's,but I will take a look at them before I purchase it.
Back to the post these are the models I'm looking at,

Toshiba 57XDX82 DVI input
57H82 DVI upgradable

Hitachi 57SWX20B DVI input
57UWX20B DVI input
57TWX20B DVI input
Question on the Hitachi the only diference is the marble like panels and antiglare.I would use the tv on a Yamaha RX-V995,Panasonic DVD non progresive, Klipsh Quint, Klipsh Sub 12'' ,Pronto Touchscreen remote, Time Warner Digital Cable upgrade to HD box.My birthday is coming up Sep 12, and living in N.Y Manhathan because of the WTC boming Sep 11 my birthday will be extremely sad for years to come.So I've desided to give my self a huge gift thats why I woulding like any dissappointments, cheer me up.
Hey what about the new Hitachi XWX series 2 DVI inputs I've read.Don't think I could wait that long, anybody knows date relist, any help with this models cons, pros, diferrences, reviews anything I've might have miss new moders ect. Please Reply.
Thank You for everything
Ricky

Most of the money in the Hitach "S" goes toward an internal surround "receiver" although there are some other niceties to this set. You'll have to decide whether it's worth the extra $.

External receivers offer more flexibility and better sound.

That's all I can think of, off the top of my head. I purchased the "U" instead of the "S" last year due to the $ savings, but that's just my opinion.

I bought the 57H82 two weeks ago and am thoroughly pleased. The main reason I went ahead and went with it was the 'DVI upgradeable' feature. Also, I have a good receiver and didn't need the internal 'power' that Hitachi offers.

Just my opinion.

I have the new Hitachi 51UWX20B with DVI. Paid $1,899 at Video Only Store. This is the entry level for the 51" series. The 51GWX20B has improved anti glare screen but adds about $400 to the price. If you have lots of windows in your TV room you may want to add this feature. The 51SWX20B has a wide neck CRT for better picture quality over the life of the CRT. If you want the built in HDTV decoder get the 51XWX20B but it will cost over $3000. I think it may even decode directtv signal.

I have used the component video inputs with my DVD player and it looks good!!! I can hardly wait to change over to digital video from dish network or direct tv so I can have TV that looks as good as the DVD. I will wait for a few monthes to get a HDTV decoder. After that there is no turning back!!!!
