i have an extra one, unopened, a single link dvi-d. i bought 2, thought i needed a duel link so i bought that too. turns out i didn't need the dual link but i all ready have it hooked up. you want it, you can have it for $20 + shipping. keith1229@verizon.net if you are interested.

Here is where I purchased my DVI cable. You will only probably need the single link depending on what your connecting.

See the FAQ on DVI connectors - several links in there for cables around $20.

the wire is 2 meters long. here's the info on it:
New and Sealed 2 meter (approx. 6 1/2 ft.) DVI digital to DVI digital Video cable. DVI is the standard interface for high-performance connection between your PC's video card, and Flat Panel Displays, Digital CRT Displays, Projectors, and HDTV. Features: Connectors: DVI-D 19-pin Male to DVI-D 19-pin Male DVI supports digital displays Resolutions up to 1920 x 1080, at a 60-Hz refresh rate Supports hot plugging of DVI display devices Compatible with Flat Panel Displays, Digital CRT Displays, Projectors, HDTV Gold plated copper contacts provide maximum conductivity with no data loss Performance-High Speed Digital Data Transmission delivers the signal faster and stronger than a standard monitor cable Compatibility-Works with virtually any digital flat panel, liquid crystal display Simplicity-Quick, Hot Plug Detection. PC and Mac compatible.
i'd actually be willing to sell it for $20 total including shipping. i am just trying to get the money back i spent on it, not ake a profit. no pressure, but if you are interested let me know.

i'll let ya know soon. still debating if i even want a dvi cable. hd looks great using components right now.

and i heard it doesnt improve pq very much on crt hdtvs.

but then again my electrical engineer side takes over and says the less d/a conversions in the entire path, the truer to original the signal will be.....

As you stated, in theory, the less D/A conversion, the better. Some say it will help an LCD/DLP fixed pixel TV more than a CRT. Again, in theory maybe, but I tried it on my LCD and it made no difference.

Understand, the DVI is a security device for copy protection, not intended for increased PQ.

DVI cable improved it so slightly but I get the DVI copyright notice on DirectTV 201 on my projector so I switch back and forth with DVI and component.
