I have Comcast HDTV with Hitachi 43" projection. I was an early adopter in my area, so Comcast supplied a "sidecar" for the HDTV channels. The HDTV reception was excellent!
The new Motorola cable box (all in one) was recently installed, which replaced the "sidecar". Believe it or not, there was a noticeable but modest degredation of the picture quality on HDTV. All else is the same. Have had a tech guy from Comcast out - he says it's fine: "see the picture fills the screen, that's how HDTV looks" - BIG HELP!!
Next I got a knowledgeable phone tech from Comcast who walked me thru alll the cable box settings. All fine. Hitachi TV indicates receipt of 1080i as it should.
But the HDTV picture isn't as good as it was! Anyone have any experience with this issue??? Thank you very much.
