I looked at a Mitsubishi model WS-A65 at Best Buy for $2999.
I can't seem to find any info on this model anywhere on the web.
Is this a stripped down Platinum series TV? I asssume its also non-DVI, the guy at BB had not even heard of DVI. Is this set worth a second look?
Thanks
I just went to Fry's over the weekend and bought the 65" WS-65819 for $2499 (sale ends 8/27). This is the platinum plus model from 2001-2002. The 2002-2003 Gold Series model WS-65311 was also on sale for $2499. This was a great price. At least for these versions, you are able to get all the specs off the Mitsubishi website. I could not get much information from the people at Best Buy regarding the WS-A65. The sales reps don't even have detailed specs, so doing a comparison on the model was difficult.

Be careful when buying the MIts 65 inch HDTV. The WS-A65 is a stripped down model. The fully equipped mode is the WS65909 (which I just ordered for $5,200, including tax, 5 year service warranty, delivered and set-up). This is for the 2001-2002 model. The 2003 model will list for about $6.500 without warranty, tax. A bit pricey, but a excellent HDTV fully integrated set in a beautiful cabinet.

The Mits come with 2394 (Firewire), but not with DVI.

Oops, my fingers meant to type 1394 (firewire).

Having just bought a 55" mitsu, I beleive that the BB tv's are the 311 series (just a guess) but based on what I have seen at other stores it seems right. We bought the WS55859 (last year's Platinum with tuner) for 2499. It is perfect in our space and the picture is nice excpet for the reds- far too intense.
