Anyone know approximately how much it costs to replace a picture tube? I have a 62" Samsung PCL5415R TV. Yesterday, my son was watching, my wife heard a pop noise and when she looked at the TV it was blank. The power light was on, but nothing, we can't turn it on or off now. I called Samsung and they said it sounded like the picture tube but their nearest aurhorized dealer is too far away.
Thanks!

Your TV deos not have a "picture tube". It is a rear projection and uses three CRT's to project the image to the screen.
I doubt that all three CRT's went bad at the same time. I would assume that there is a problem with a power supply or another module...
You will definitely need service/repair from a tech. I hope it's still under warranty!

Try unplugging for about 5 minutes. Sometimes a hard reset will help.

Unfortunately that didn't work. We left it unplugged for hours yesterday.

Are you still getting audio?
If not, it sounds like something other than the CRT guns.

No audio, no video.

Fom your symptoms described it sounds like the low voltage power supply is bad, if you really like this set you should get a qualified service tech to look at it. If that is the case that should not be a major repair.
Not free but much better than replacing it!!
