I bought a Hitachi 51G500 about 2 weeks ago after doing a lot of searching. It's been getting a lot of use in that time, but I'm concerned about it because of a glitch that has occurred twice:
- The first time, the picture became blurry and the colors changed as if being tuned. It wouldn't work itself out after a minute or two, but did once I turned the TV off and back on again.
- The second time, the exact same thing happened as before, but this time I wasn't able to turn it off with the remote or the power button. I had to unplug the TV and then plug it back in. Once done, it was fine.
I have a VCR, DVD, and a combo TiVo/DirecTV receiver hooked up to it. Both times that this has happened, I was watching something recorded by TiVo if that makes a difference.
I have a deal with the place that I bought it from in which they will replace the TV for the first month. After that, it reverts to the manufacturer's warranty. Since I'm within the first month, I'm thinking about getting it replaced.
Can anyone shed some light on what might be causing this? Any opinions on what I should do? Thanks in advance!
