I have THE BEST Wife in the world. (in case she reads this)/
Really I do. We LOVE our Direct Tv and wanted to get the HD package. The equipment price held us back.$349.00 So I went with our cable co. (Charter) . Only problem is the monthly bill Broadband plus dig, extended, family package plus HD. Then I was thinking of VOOM The problem with VOOM is No BBC, Discovery wings, Noggin(kids), and a few of the channels we watch are currently NOT available on VOOM. SO I called Direct TV. Long sob story to the customer service rep got me the current customer HD upgrade for $99.00. Plus the HBO for $2 a month for 6 months.
They come out next Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will keep you posted.

I am leaving Dish to go back to Direct tv. I had a superdish installed by Dish and my locals are comming in so bad it looks like I am using rabbit ears. They came out and said everything is hooked up correctly, that was the straw that broke the camels back.

I had Direct 2 years ago and their PQ was far better than Dish. On SD channels.

I don't know what cable offers in your area, but only having CBS in HD as in the major networks seems like a rip off.

I agree, they are just now setting up for Digital cable in my area(Comcast). I would switch to them if the deal was just right. But I will wait and see.

Scott:

It's well worth looking into what cable in your area has to offer. I get quite a few channels in HD and I only pay 9.95 a month for it.

This is from their website.
This is why I tried my cable company first. It sounded good as it is only $10.00 a month.
