:lurk: Man, its about time. I've been meaning to write to the PGA about this topic. Its awsome to be able to see the word "Titlest" when they zoom in on the putts rolling towards the hole. SWEEEET!!

CBS is da sheit and leader in HD programs. :afro:

Where have you been? It was in HD last year and I think the year before that too.

Reeally!? I don't remember. Was the British or US open in HD? How about the Players? I guess I am in the dark. One tournament a year for a sporting event that brings in Billions of dollars a season, that's not right. College hoops reg. season games get more HD coverage and they don't bring in nearly as much money. Don't they know that everyone golfs.

First time poster...

Saw the Masters on the HDTV at Sound Advice, and after seeing that, wife and I made the plunge and bought the Sony HDTV and Directv Reciever...

That coverage looked amazing, probably the best thing on the HDTV roster of shows on at the time (even better than Britney Spears in Concert) and after hemming and hawwing, decided now was the best time to make the big purchase.

Funny thing is, we hate golf. But being able to see the bugs on the green and the amazing views of Augusta did it for us.

Purchase arrives Tuesday morning. methinks I wont leave the couch all day.

How awesome was that?!! This was my first full Golf HD broadcast as well. (I saw the one hole AT&T broadcast on INHD, but it was nothing like this). I assume that there were some SD cameras out there as well, as some of the shots were not as clear as others...?

Thanks for the tips guys!

Stumbled across this site and it has been chock full of great information and reading.

But you did forget one thing in the FAQ thread you gave to me...

Forgot to mention that it is ok to hug the HDTV the first night you have it.
