Returned yesteday from a trip to Russia (Moscow and St. Pete) and was amazed at the number of 30 in + LCD's located in public spaces (for example a food court in Moscow outside Red Square), and the number of advertisements for large screen TV's (LCD and Plasma because CRT based are too large for the apartments). But, the one thing I did not see was anything on HD or digital broadcasting.

Just interested in knowing if HD and DigTV are available in Russia?

My hosts in Russia were very interested in the cost of Plasma TV's in the US, and what is available for home theaters...not something I would have imagined before this visit.

I don't believe HD, as we know it, is currently available outside the US, Canada, Japan and Australia (720P, 1080i). However, many countries already had PAL or Secam, which have about 25% more resolution than NTSC.

No HD yet but there is no reason that they can't have it.
