jvc 40000 ilink problems

I have a jvc 40000 and am attempting to connect with cable box that has ilink connection. I cannot get a picture on the I-1 line into the vcr. Does anyone know how to solve this problem. Are there settings that need to be made?

dkow,

I have neither piece of equipment, but doesn't the ilink connection have to be enabled by your local cable co.?

I know some people have DVI connections on their cable boxes that won't work until the cable company "turns them on"?

Just a guess,
