I have the 48 in version and it looks great, i have a panasonic progressive scan dvd player but it looks the same without the progressive enabled, i think the tv upscales the image anyway, i'm picking up my hd receiver today so it should be working by this weekend. very nice set and it has the dvi also.

i have to wait for my cable company to support HDTV, which is probably over a year away
but for now im pretty happy with it on regular cable and dvd. Do you notice that on DVD it looks a little grainy sometimes if you pay attention (like little dots are moving around all over the place) |

I have the 48" version too, and love it. Have had it for a couple of months. Use a JVC progressive scan DVD, and HDTV via Dish Network. Works great for me...

I just got mine a few days ago. Really am enjoying it so far. No HDTV receiver yet though. I have Comcat digital cable here in Nashville and the premium movie channels are looking good. The lower channels are giving me some problems,I got a cable guy coming here in a couple of days to check it out. DVDs are really nice looking.Although my player isn't PS.
I have to do some checking around on this forum for some answers,I'm real HDTV/DVI ignorant right now. But anyway,I'm really pleased with the JVC so far. |

agree
I also have the 48 and I love it. I really like the silver cabinet design. I do have a question though. I am curious as to how everyone has their TV set up. Like the color settings and color temp. settings. Just curious if we all have them pretty close....

My JVC
I do, & I just love it. so does my wife...she likes the sleek silver look because some of my buddies have some pretty ugly widescreens.

I have the 56" and it has been very good to me as well.
Set the Video Status to theater. Put Natural Cinema to Auto. Configure with the Avia DVD. I will check my settings and post them. As you know depending on the factory settings, lighting, temperature and room settings, they probably would not be the same. In addition some of it is personal preference. Bill |

56" Version here, too.
I've had my television for about 4 months now and I love it. Everything is so simple to configure. I have my set up similar to billw's and it's been working just fine.

I have had the 48 for about 2 months now. It is great. I bought a JVC DVD player, the 900, w/ progressive scan, and the JVC 8020 receiver. I hooked them up using the compulink and have one button control on on/off functions, and which video setup to use. I have had no problems with the TV. I am using a Samsung desktop HDTV receiver and the picture is great. The DVD picture is great too. I did not plan to go all JVC for my major componets, but I have had no problems. I have the Avia setup DVD, but have not used it yet. Still, everything looks great!

grimmace,
I am with Comcast so I only get ABC NBC HBO (because I subscribed to HBO) They had a one time broadcast of TNT for the NBA All star game. If Comcast does not make a move before the Dish Network PVR is release, I am switching. |

I am getting OTA signal only for now. My cable company doesn't have HDTV signals piped through yet. I am getting, NBC, CBS, FOX, WB, ABC, and PBS with clear signals. In some cases from both DC and Baltimore! I hope it comes through cable soon though.

grimmace,
I would imagine it is only a matter of time. The positive note is they will probably have some of these offerings negotiated prior to HD going online in your area. |
