LCD vs. DLP

According to Texas Instruments;

This one's been around for a while - in order to make LCDs "look their worst". Since it's not really "unbiased" I'd take a lot of it with a grain of salt. They put LCD through "torture" that most people would not...

I'm not saying one's better than the other, just that this "biased" test is not necessarily the best source of information on the subject.

Yeah I agree it just concerned me because certain LCD TV makers are claiming "new lamp=new tv" type deal when your original lamp dies out.

Traditionally, LCD projectors had a lower contrast ratio and were more prone to the Screen Door Effect (SDE). However, new advances in LCD technology match or beat the specs of the DLP projectors.
