D-ILA burn in?

I thought that this tv was similar to DLP's in that they don't suffer from burn in. However, There is a warning in the manual. Am I wrong?

Thanks

D-ILA burn in

The JVC D-ILA manual does warn about burn in, but every salesperson I asked said that there is no burn in risk. I specifically indicated that I needed a set that was immune from burn in, and could have gone with another DLP, an LCD, or the D-ILA, so cost was not really an issue.

With that said, I am somewhat concerned about the warning in the manual. From its wording, I get the impression that the burn in happens on the chips, not the screen.

I'm considering returning the set and getting a Toshiba DLP (with the DLP2+ chip) instead.

Anyone have a thought on the swap?

Burn in doesn't happen on the screen for any of the RPTVs. Any "degredation" happens in the "chips" or in the CRTs for CRT-based RPTVs, not on the screen. The screen is a passive device for these technologies.

I'd be interested in hearing more about what degredation happens on D-ILA (LCoS) technology though, since LCD, DLP and LCoS are supposed to be essentially immune to degredation in all but the harshest services, with DLP supposedly being totally immune.
