Considering that I don't want to run wire all the way from the receiver to the surround speakers, that's my best option.

Otherwise, instead of running speaker wire, you'll be doing the same with AC cords. What is the reason you cannot run speaker wire?

Something about those ugly 14 or 16 size wires freaks them out and the guy has to accomodate hiding the wires as well as the back and/or side surrounds. There is a new Sony HTiB coming out that uses this method but I have not tested it yet.
