Screen Burn In Problem

Dear hjf;
Well, I have good news and bad news.

Basically, you got screen burni-in becuase the sets come from the factory set up "hot"! Of course, the manual does not clearly warn you of this. For the painful details, please see my posting under "Don't Buy Panasonic".

Now, you actually do have a way to get it resolved. But it will prove difficult.

1) Call the Panasonic help line. They are going to tell you "tough luck buddy!" But you want to document this response for the next step.
2) File in small claims court in your local area. You will need to file the claim against Panasonic and/or the store who sold you the set. It is typically less than $20 to file.
3) Once Panasonic gets the letter from the court indicating you intend to take them to court to get your TV fixed, you'll get a call from one of their lawyers.
4) Now, at this point, you must be very very clam and personable. Yelling and screaming will not help.
5) State that all you want is to have the TV fixed. That's it. No damages. No mental distress. No emotional hardship.
6) Panasonic does not want to have this go to court. Imagine Poor consumer vs Big company. Judges hate that type of thing.

Let me know how you make out
