Warning To Everyone!!! (tweeter)
Anyone here thinking about buying a TV from Tweeter please think twice. I have a 55 inch Mitsibushi HDTV that has been down for 5 weeks now going on six. I have never seen a service department like the one I have dealt with over the last five weeks and still to this day have no resolution to my problem. They do not return phone calls, the office does not know where their service guy is or his progress with jobs. They have one service guy for Maryland and Virginia. Yes you heard me right ONE GUY!! I called over five weeks ago because when my ten month old 3600 dollar TV went dark for no reason and still it is not fixed. A part came in ten days ago and I can not even get a return phone call from the service tech letting me know when installation will be. As soon as he saw my TV he got on his cell phone to spmeone saying he has never seen this before. Setting the TV back to factory default did not work so he was lost and made 5 phone calls in thirty minutes to try and get advice!! If I have no result from Tweeter in the next two days I am going into the store and demand something be done. I hope the sales counter is flooded with people when I do. To beat all I bought the 3 year service extension. What a waste of money!! There has been at least fifty phone calls made and two returned. Sorry to fume out this out in here guys but I hust want everyone to be aware of what you are dealing with where Tweeter is concerned. If this problem is in Maryland I know it is in other states!!
So everyone BEWARE that once you buy a product from Tweeter you are on your own after delivery!! Whatever happened to good customer service?? I guess I will get it when I go in the store and act a fool if no result by Thursday!! |

I have always got better results with an in store appearance. I would wait until the 1st Saturday after Thanksgiving......then go there and demand to talk to the supervisor
Bring all your paperwork with you. The store should be full of people ![]()

I'm pretty sure they are locally operated. I have had good luck with my local one. Sorry to hear about your experience.

I think if the TV is still under the factory warranty you need to get Mitsubishi involved, you might have better luck with one of their ceritifed repair centers...

That's why I like really big chains like Futureshop & The Sony Store. My Plasma TV broke after 3 days. The service guy and a manager from the sony store where there within 3 days and I had a new TV within a week.

Finally A Picture!!!
Well the tweeter guy came out yesterday and worked for 3 hours on my TV. He put a new board in it and also played with convergence for 50 minutes. I am not sure if everything was done correctly because to be honest with you I do not remember how good my pic was before all this. All I know is that I can tell who people are and could not do that before. I guess I will watch it for a few days and feel it out. If I am not happy with the pic quality I will call him back. Just wanted to update eveyone.
By the way in the menu screen of my TV (Mitsubishi 55813) it has where you can reset convergence at the touch of one button. What does this reset it to?? Does it really take that long to set up convergence. I just want to be sure he knows what he is doing!! |

I've looked at the sony 34xbr960 among others. Thanks for any advice. |

Check out the FAQs like:
How large an HDTV to buy. Types of HDTV, What you'll need to do to your new HDTV, (to help understand what you'll see when you go shopping and to properly set up the TV once it's delivered.) etc.
