So I went to Sears this morning (6:00... better odds right???) to pick up the Toshiba 46H84 for $999. Turns out that they don't actually stock the item, but they can order it. Same with the bigger store in a nearby town. I figured that I could order it at that price tomorrow, so I would make some phone calls to try to drum up a price match that I could get today.

Call to Best Buy resulted in a price match, but no delivery until mid next week. Better, but not exactly perfect. Calls to other stores did about the same (if they carried it).

Then I called ABC Warehouse. The guy I talked to said that he had to look into availability of the 46H84, but affirmed that they did carry Toshiba. He took my number, but I really didn't expect a call back.

Half hour later, he calls back saying that he can special order that unit at that price, BUT he can do me one better. He offered a 51H84 for $1099 I figure that the additional height of this unit is worth the extra $100 (figure $200 for a stand right?)

So that's my deal of the century. It will be delivered tomorrow to a newbie with a smile you can't knock off with a 2x4.

51H84 does not use a stand but still great deal.. Neighbor got his day before thanksgiving for 1199.00 plus tax
