Q RE: changing grey color bars, SW upgrades
Hello,
I'm new to this forum and have some Q's: 1. I've read that the two vert. gray color bars can be changed to black. Anyone know how to do this? 2. I see that these sets are partially SW upgradable. Does RCA do upgrades? Has anyone created "custom" upgrade programs? I really like the set so far (F38310), but I'm sick of the grey bars. I'm also wondering if there is a more gracefull way to stretch a normal 4:3 image so it remains crisp/clear.... TIA |

Grey/Black bars
Welcome to the forum:
I'd recommend that you learn to live with the stretched images. The grey bars are grey to minimize burn-in, however, even then, prolonged use of the HDTV set in this mode will cause burn lines at the interface of the grey and the image. Black bars are even worse. You may wish to check out "burn in" by typing it into the search engine. You may also wish to check out our FAQ section as many "newbie questions" are answered there.
