Upgrade question
I currently have a Pioneer 434 player. I have heard it is not really a true PS unit.
Would I notice a difference if I went to a Panasonic RP56 or 91? What player would give me a noticeable improvement in picture quality? My TV is a Panasonic 47" HD with a Sony HD200 STB. Thanks! |

I recently purchased the Panasonic RP 62 (this years RP 56)$174. I hooked it up via the component (Blue/green/red) connections. Hit the progressive button and wala - 480p in all it's glory. I did notice an improvement from my other DVD (interlaced 480i "S" connection).

Blazeone, welcome to the forum. The interesting thing is that some people notice a difference and others notice little or no difference.
Some HDTVs do a really good job of upconverting 480i, so those will have the least difference. Buy a unit that you can return if the results are not what you expected.
