Help! Problem with my Mits SR-HD5 Rec.

Hook it up power light comes on but no Video on screen. Any tips on this maybe I am doing something wrong. Or what should I look for? Does a HDTV Compatible TV the 55809 have to be hooked up a certain way or what? Thanks.....

You have a 55809? I've got a 909. The delivery guys set the whole thing up, but I'll give it a shot.

It probably doesn't know what sources you are giving it for TV. Try menu - setup - then add an input. You should at least be able to add Ant-A for cable TV. Once it recognizes it, go to menu - antenna - memorize channels. It will put into memory whatever it can get.

Later you can add a new device like DVD or VCR.

I had a similar issue when recently setting my HD5 up as well.

If you're coming out of the HD5 with Component Outputs, those are 1080i only and you'll need to have that feed (probably) the DTV input on the TV. If you're coming out with S-Video or composite - that is a 480i output and would feed a different input on the TV. My advice is set up both coming out of the HD5 and have two inputs configured on the TV - then, you can go to Action, Setup, and AV Setup to configure the HD5 for whatever output you want - and make sure you activate the TV input to match it. This should eliminate the no video/audio problem, plus you can watch things in their native format - always better.
