Yes, i bought a 65F710 in november of 2004 from hdtv time. It is an awesome tv with a great picture and sound. The HD channels are fantastic. I have not had any problems with this 65 inch beauty. Best Hitachi tv i have ever owned. Any one else care to reply?

I take delivery of my 65f710 tomorrow (2/4). Will post my thoughts afterwards. Is anyone using the CableCard slot on this set?

Just to follow up...
I love this TV! With every day that passes, the picture gets better. Using the built in tuner and straight TWC coax input(no STB) TV tunes in analog and digital channels using its channel manager. It found FOX (only one I was concerned w/ at the time) and SuperBowl in HD was absolutely amazing. Using component jacks for progressive scan (Sony 575s) DVD. I noticed nuances in "Fifth Element" (great PQ movie) that I had never seen before. Set is capable of a day and night setting for each input(AFAIK I've only used Ant A,B, Input 1). No complaints so far, although I wish there was a "true" center speaker shelf on top of the TV. Just have to be careful not to move TV with speaker on top. Using Optical out to my Onkyo receiver w/ TV speakers turned off; perfectly clean DD 5.1 while watching HD Channels. I am getting a TWC CableCard this weekend (2/12) so I will be able to report on its usefulness. If Conn's (TX) still has the set for $1799, and you are looking for a great HDTV @ a unbelievable price, get this TV.

Hitachi 65

Thanks for the reply.Conns does not have it at 1799 anymore. Its now 1999.Still a good price. How is PQ with video games? Also how would you compare it in terms of PQ to a dlp or lcd with videogames/movies/hdtv?Thanx a lot.I ordered the tv, but they were out of stock and I am now indecisive.I cant decide between the hitachi 65f series or a 62" mitsu dlp thats $1200 more.

I have had mine for a week already and enjoy it very much. I don't have cable or sat, just using OTA for now and I'm amazed by the HD PQ on NBC, ABC, PBS, and WB. The only thing I noticed was that the dark colors are too black, no details (if it makes any sense) and if I turn up the brightness in order to see the details of dark clothing (suits/shirts/pants)then everything else is too bright. I've just done the 117 pt convergence and brought down the settings to about 55 on brightness and about 45 on contrast. Hoping to adjust it better with AVIA or DVE. Oh yeah, one more thing, one of the Conn's guy said they were suppose to have that special again since it went so well.
On another note, I emailed FOX 7 here in Austin, Tx to find out about Fox HD OTA, and got a reply that they are suppose to boost up the signal strength in July.
Thanks for all the feedback.

I have an Xbox and it looks good, but I'm just using the regular A/V cables, even better when the games support the 16:9 format.

I own the 60V500A and I am completely satisfied. The set is the best I have ever owned bar none. I've had it since November and not one problem. HD PQ is awesome, analog via my Dish 811 is just ok. It took me a while to get the calibration right with AVIA, the set is LCD and I highly recommend you let it burn in for a few weeks before you get serious about the PQ calibration.
