RCA DTC-100 or a Hughes Platinum?

Any reason why one would be a better buy over the other?

The RCA DTC-100 is a first generation receiver, so it probably comes with a few issues that are worked out in the 2nd and 3rd generation models. I believe the Hughes Platinum is a 2nd generation model, and based on the specs, I think the Hughes has the RCA beat hands down for connections and little features here and there.

Broadcast TV reception also seems to be improved in each new model released to the market, which is a potential benefit if you live in an area with a semi-weak signal. If nothing else get them both and try them out side by side.
