I have the RCAF38310. It has only 1 component video input, and I have my Dish model 6000 and my JVC723 prog scan DVD player, both hooked up thru a JVC JXS111 comp-vid switcher. I bought it as a cheap ($80) alternative to some outrageously priced hi end models. The specs list the video frequency response at 30mhz (I think, I dont have it in front of me). Im not an expert, but this figure seems low. Is it? I will say that the PQ is outstanding, from both sources. When I compare Dish's CBS HD feed with my OTA CBS from my rooftop antenna, I cant tell the difference. Should I stay blissfully ignorant, and just enjoy what my untrained eyes cant notice, or is the switcher good enough?

The switch is fine. See the 10th (last) post in --> This thread for further evidence that even the inexpensive RS switches are fine for this service.
"Monster" cables, "Monster" speaker wires, "Monster" switches, MONSTER hype. (and I'm not only talking about Monster the manufacturer, I'm talking about the silliness of paying more for a cable or a switch, than you pay for an entire DVD player. Take a look inside your components one day and see the size of the wires and switches. Buy what you're comfortable with, but don't buy into hype. And once you've bought it, don't look back, especially if it performs. Your eyes are not deceiving you. If you've really got money burning a hole in our pocket, Bryston have a switch that's about $1000. If you spend $100,000 on a home theatre, then this may make some sense, but most of us don't spend 1/10th that.
