KP57WS500 or KP57WV700

Hi.

I am in the market for a Sony 57" HDTV and have narrowed it down to the ones mentioned above.

Is the new WV series worth the extra money? I live in Toronto and I can get it for $5000 (Canadian) where as the WS is $4000 (Canadian). Are the extra features in the WV worth $1000 more? How much better will the picture quality be?

Any input will be appreciated.

well i have the ws500 and ill tell ya i love it..... its a great set and looks great. But be honest with ya if I had the money I would have gone with the wv600 or wv700 cause yeah they are a little bit of an upgrade from the ws500.... So it just depends on whether you want to spend the money. Hope that answered your ?...

Why have you not mentioned the WV600?? This is the set I just bought and absolutely love it. I never did get to see the WV700 in person, but I believe the only difference is "uniform screen brightness" which allows you to view the screen better from different angles.

I thought they only offered WV700. I never saw a 600 set at the store I went to. Maybe it is only offered in the US?

Sid, why did you decide on the WV model?

Were you looking at other ones before you chose it? What made you pick it over the other models, for example the WS series.

I have always been somewhat of a fan of Sony TVs and other imaging devices. I purchased a pretty high-end Sony digital camera last year and noticed the Memory Stick feature on the WV models. I was very torn between the KP51ws500 (for price reasons) and the KP57wv600. Believe it or not, I did a real good job in bargaining the price on the WV and got it for not much more than the 51" WS.
