Akai 42" PT4299HD: Opinions?
I am looking at this TV set as a compromise to my wife who doesn't want me to spend 1.5x as much more on the Samsung HLP4674W that I really want.
Is this TV a fair deal for the money? Anyone *not* happy with it? |

I've got the pt4799hd. Works fairly well. The price was reasonable for the size and features. It is a rebadged Samsung ( HC P4741W). The instruction manuals are identical (except for the name Akai vs. Samsung)
I am sure the 42 inch is the same, so you're essentially looking at a Samsung, which is not a bad brand (IMHO) |

The only problem I can see with this set is that it lacks DVI/HDMI interfaces. I think this is the one that Circuit City sells for less than 900 bucks. Not bad if you ask me.

Thanks for the replies. I went to see it at Circuit City last night and I wasn't really impressed...probably because I still want the Samsung.
