Newbie needs advice. Dell vs Epson

Hi,

This is my first post here.
I am trying to buy my first projector.

The story is....

I went to the projector store and bought a Dell 2300MP
http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/p...c=uk&l=en&s=lca
Single Chip DDR DLP
2300 ANSI Lumens
2100:1 Contrast
1024 x 768 Native Resolution (1600 x 1200 max)
Manual Zoom, focus & keystone
62.5cm - 750cm Projection Screen Size

The Dell projector did give me exelent picture, bright and nice colors.
This projector was designed as a bussines projector not as a Ht projector so he was surpisingly good as a HT projector

I desided to return it mainly becouse of the 4:3 res and the lens, the dell projector needs to be 4 to 7 meters away from the screen, space I dont have

Instead I got an slightly more expensive Epson TW200H
http://www.epson.co.uk/products/vid.../EMP-TW200H.htm
LCD
1500 ANSI Lumens
1000:1 Contrast
1280 x 720 Native Resolution (1600 x 1200 max)
Power Zoom, focus & keystone
1.33-13.65m Projection Screen Size

I find the Epson picture not as clear, a little fussi and seams out of focus or has a gray haze over it. This might be a setup problem?

I know nothing about projectors.
My question is wich projector would you recomend?

Thank you

One thought is that you might be seeing SDE (screen door effect) that is one of the downsides of an LCD projector. You could try to adjust sharpness to but usually people want to lower sharpness so that the SDE lines blend a little better.

Maybe consider a third option for a projector.

Ya I noticed the UK sites. It seems that the link I provided can make arrangements for overseas. The projector on the link is also a unit earmarked for bussiness applications but has some pretty impressive specs for the price. I'll be checking it out in action this weekend, I am sure it will be fine in a home theater application and should handle the different aspect ratios. You can also check out Optoma's site. Good luck.
