Post Akai PT4299HD Service Menu

Can anyone who has an Akai PT4299HD set please post the default service menu values? I did the "stupid Newbie trick" of changing the settings without writing down the default values, and I can't find a service manual as yet.

Thanks!!!!!
Chad

Well... here's info. It appears to have an option "factory reset".

Your guess is as good as mine as to what it really means.
Use at your own risk!!!

I've used the PT4299 factory reset option in the service menu. Does no harm. Though when you choose it, there is a click that makes it sound as though there's plenty of harm!

Would be nice to chat with somebody else trying to calibrate their AKAI PT4299. Just got Avia today and will be getting Video Essentials next week.

Avia did some nice work with the colour, but the brightness and contrast tests/results were a bit contradictory.

Smile Service manual

Hallelujah, a service manual for the PT4299HD is available! Go to www.samsungparts.com to find it. It costs $22.00.

BTW, I think the "factory reset" option only resets things like the channel settings, sound settings and input labels. It doesn't seem to reset anything in the service menu.

Also, if any of you are having trouble with curvy lines on the sides, top or bottom of your screen, there are two tricks that might help. First, if you are using any kind of power strip or UPS system, make sure it can output at least 240 watts. It makes a difference. Also, turn your contrast down as much as you can while still being able to see white instead of gray. An overdriven contrast setting can really mess up your geometry.

Hey, I recently purchased the service manual to adjust my vertical move because the bottom of my picture is getting cut off by quite a bit. However, I have been unsuccessful in being able to enter the service menu by turning of my set and pressing the "mute 1-8-2 (or 1-8-3)" to get in.

The only thing I can do is press "mute 1-8-3" while the TV is already on and I get a grid that 1080 60i, and you can move your cursor around and see different colors if you press 1,2, 3 etc. I think this is the convergence screen which I do not want to be on since the convergence is fine. I just want to get the main menu so I can select the vertical shift feature which is in the manual.

Thanks for any help you can provide.
