Westinghouse LTV-32w1

Anyone else out there have this model? What are your thoughts regarding PQ, integration into your home theater, etc?

I purchased mine about a month ago and love it, but I haven't been running any HD content. Dish tech guy is supposed to be here within the next 3 hours to install HD/DVR... CAN'T WAIT!

Set-up should be looking like this...
DVD: HDMI-out to DVI-in on monitor
Dish HD/DVR: Component
X-box: Composite (until either the 360 arrives or I simply upgrade to the HD A/V pack)

I have the 27" model. I looked at the 32" model, but it was at least $500 more. I ended up getting the 27" open box, so they knocked even more off the price.

If you love the TV now, wait until you started feeding it true HD signals...

Agreed, I've had HD for about two weeks now and I can't believe the difference! Westinghouse is coming out with a few new models that look even better, but I'm loving this monitor. My next edpenditure is an ISF calibration.

Thanks for the reply Brian and good luck w/ your Westy

I am looking at the same setup. Does your Dish HD/DVR 942 get the local channels in HD or do you need an off-air antenna?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Montessa

Hi Montessa,

I'm just checking in to see if you received my e-mail. If not, the 942 CAN receive locals but ONLY with an OTA antenna. Depending on your location in relation to the broadcast towers, this may not be a big deal (as simple as plugging in an indoor antenna). More info. for your particular area may be found at the following url: http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx

Hope this helps!

we snagged this one @ best buy last nite. i'm was listed for $899 & got $50 add'tl off for taking a comcast hdtv option. am getting the comcast hd box today & will set it up over the next few days. cannot believe the price. btw, in the store the picture appeared, to my non expert eye, to hold its own w/ 32" models costing 2 & 3 x more. more to come. bub

Just set mine up today, Crutchfield had it on sale for 899.00 plus free shipping. It is AMAZING with HD broadcasts. I don't even have my good cables setup yet. The non-HD channels are decent. Not as bad as I thought they would be. The only think I notice is a small delay with sound in non hd channels. I wonder why??

To robopig:
I occasionally get the delay thing too. From what I've read, it often has more to do with the original broadcast (from a cable/satellite provider or Over The Air) signal than with your equipment. I've quoted one of the Forum Moderators (57U) from a previous response below.

- service provider (cable or sat)
- your STB.

You can usually tell if it's your STB by switching it off and on again. It'll "resynch" when you do this and if the synch is still off, then it's caused by one of the others listed above.

I say to call the "last link in the chain" because they are supposed to be responsible for everything that happens before, even if it's not their fault.

Thanks allinforgreen. Yea I notice if I leave it on the HD Channel and it's not a HD boradcast delay, so I go to the normal local and no problem. Also hooked up to High Quality Component cables and all I can say is WOW!!! Have it in our bedroom and am mounting it on the wall this weekend per my wife. Any good mounts to look at?
