Unhappy Accidentally disabled my Advent HT3061A, please help

Accidentally flipped this value in the service mode:

MENU 4:

INT H-SYNC PHASE - 10
AV BEAM LIMIT - 1E
AV BEAM LIMIT CHA - 91
PEA DRIVE LIMIT - 90
PEAK DRIVE TOP - 10
PEA DRIVE BOTTOM - 47
PEA DRIVE L-R - 88
DEFLECT 0 - 03
DEFLECT 1 - 05
RGB CONTROL 1 - 84
RGB CONTROL 2 - BB
RGB CONTROL 3 - 00
V INPUT MODE - C5

It made the picture go black with a horizontal white line across the screen.

I can navigate back through the menu blindly and adjust this setting again, but it appears that the only things I can do is get that white line, or no picture at all.

Does anyone with the service manual know what this setting does exactly, and how to get the TV back to normal? The manual on Advent's site is no longer there.

Settings were listed here:

Oh man, I just did the same exact thing...
I've been messing around with the service menu for like a year on this set and I thought I'd tried every setting and never been able to hurt the thing. This time i hit the same setting as you and it flipped out and went blank. Disconnecting power has not helped. I fear the set has met its end. If anyone has any information on this I'd be most obliged as I'm in no position to afford a new television set.

Holy Crap!!!! I cant believe it but i FIXED IT!!!!
OK heres what you gotta do.
Turn off the display.
Turn it back on. Wait a minute.
Then very carefully input the service menu intro (SLP>MUTE>AV>MENU)
Then hit MENU 3 TIMES
Then hit DOWN 7 TIMES
then just go one direction (whichever you think it should be) until you get a picture, It wasnt a normal picture for me, it was a solid green screen. Youll know it when you see it. The correct setting should be:

DEFLECT 0 - 03
DEFLECT 1 - 05

Then restart the tv. Mess with it, youll get it eventually, took me about 10 minutes of trying to find the right setting. Lets get some people with these displays together to start testing these settings and find some of the geo fixes and what not, ive royally screwed my service menu up now and its not like it was originally at all, although i think the geo issues are better than they used to be, but ive created a pretty wicked flicker problem on my 2751A. GL and take a deep breath when the display kicks back on.

I am guessing that there is no way to totally reset the menus to what it was when it left the factory?

Thank you bluesun311, I am going to try that when I get home!!

I cant seem to fix it. How long did you have to adjust it for it to get a screen back? It seems like its taking me forever.

Damnit, I still cant get it to work. I am currently saving up for a new TV. This sucks. I would do anything just to go back and tell my dumb self not to do whatever it was that I did. There wouldnt be a reset button on the actual motherboard would there?

AdventUser, i did this to my tv several months ago while it was still in-warranty. I called advent and told them it just blinked out while i was watching it, and they had me take it to a local repair shop. the local repair shop had the tv for 3 months because advent is very slow at sending parts down, but after 3 months i got fed up and called advent every day until i reched the right person that would try to get one of their techs to talk to one of the tv repair shop's techs. they sent down a new circuitboard for the tv and that cleared up the problem. if you are still under warranty i would suggest calling advent and doing what i did, but DON'T tell them you were messing about in the service menu. Then when you get the TV back sell it on ebay and get a decent tv, this tv is crap.

When I called them about a local repair shop, they told me the closest one is like 50 miles from where I live.

Well, I sent my TV into the repair shop today. It wasnt too bad (like 15 miles). The guy told me that it could take a while for him to get the parts he needs because they are slow, basically exaclty whaty you said GutBomb. So I am happy that it is being fixed. He said that he was probably going to have to replace the circiut board.

GutBomb, when you got yours back, was it as good as new or did you have any other problems with it (display wise or anything at all)?

be prepared to wait for 2 more. also be prepared for advent to take no action in sending the correct parts at all until you repeatedly call them and tell them that you need their repair techs to co-operate with the shop. you're going to need a "new circuitboard". that's what i needed.

i recommend as soon as you get the tv back, turn around and sell it on ebay. then get yourself a nice philips tv from outlet.philips.com. i did that and don;t regret it one bit!

Well, I called the shop and "supposedly" the parts are in transit and will be there shortly. I have no high expectations about getting it soon but I hope that I can get it next week sometime.

well when i had mine at the shop the wrong parts were send 3 times. once the part didn't fix the problem, and twice advent sent parts for the wrong tv.

Well I *****ed out advent and got them to just call best buy and take my TV back. After 3 months of dealing with this I finally have an HDTV back. Its not an advent. Its a toshiba. Much better IMO. only had to pay $40 for it too!!! I am exited!
