I just started looking for a digital optional audio selector and found one at this site
http://store.yahoo.com/videoware/digitalaudio1.html Part No. DA-321 $27.95 They also have a High Definition Component Video Selector by Victor Company of Japan (JVC) - Component Video Switch Part No. VICTOR 521 $129.95 They had this to say about the Comp. selector: Our "Victor 521" (also known as JX-S111) switch is featured on TechTV's Screen Savers as the most affordable Component Video Switch. Other models start at 599.95. The only thing I'd worry about with the Component switch is to make sure there is no signal degregation when it goes through the switch. I assume your TV only has one Comp. input. I had the same problem, however, I have a VGA(RGB) input on the TV so I went and got a STB with VGA output. From what I've read the VGA input is as good as comp. input. I'm going to be looking for the dig. optical selector soon, so let me know if you find a better one |

It also looks like the Component selector takes care of your digital audio too

I'm having this same problem, and I'd rather not spend $100 on a video switcher. I would be happy to just have an extension cable so I can switch between the DVD player and the Gamecube without digging behind the TV. Is it possible to hook two component video cables together without losing any of the signal? Will simple RCA couplers work on component video cables?

eyrie0,
I do not know about connectors..... What I did find out 30MHz from my new Yamaha 5560 receiver works great for DVD and 1080i. I tested it with the highest signal quality I could. I connected my Xbox to the receiver and put it "Dragons Lair 3D" I then connected the Xbox directly to the HD inputs on my TV. With the same exact frame I could not see any differance between direct and 30Mhz switch. |
