DLP projector
My son is having a new home built and is thinking of putting in a DLP projector in the family room. I am not familar with these systems. What are the pro's and con's for home use?
Thanks, ![]() |

See the HDTV FAQ on "Types of HDTV". I assume you're talking about a front projector.
With DLP front projectors, you really need to ensure you aren't bothered by the rainbow effect. With the large screen it's really noticeable. http://www.hdtvoice.com/voice/showt...ghlight=rainbow You, of course, need a room you can darken, almost fully, or fully. The screen will also be very important. The bulbs burn out fairly fast, so this may not be your only TV - often people use another smaller TV for viewing "ordinary" programming.

I suggest projectorcentral.com as a good source of reviews and specs on various models also.
