This is a CRT-based direct view HDTV. All consumer CRTs have 1080i as their native HD resolution. See the HDTV FAQs on:
- Resolution - HDTV Formats. Most HDTVs (even ones with a native resolution of 720P) seem to "prefer" an incoming signal format of 1080i, however, if your TV accepts 720P (I couldn't tell from the specs) feel free to experiment with feeding 720P from the X-Box. Please do not cross-post. I've deleted your other post.

720p should look better than 480p. Also, 480p is not HD, so a higher resolution would make more sense.
