Cool DVI-I or DVI-D?

Will DVI-D be the most common format for Home Theater? or DVI-I?

DVI-D will win (is winning). DVI-D allows the use of HDCP over the DVI link, which content creators/owners (e.g. HBO, WB, MPAA, etc) are screaming for. DVI-I does not have a way to protect the analog content that is transmitted over the link.

It is also cheaper to go with DVI-D, since there is no need to do a D-to-A conversion to get the analog RGB.

All of that said, HDMI will eventually take over in the end.
