Akai 4294 Problem - newbie

Hi All! I'm glad I found this forum. I have a 4294, that after almost two years of flawless service is on the fritz. One minute there was a picture, next it was gone. When turning it on, I get a "pop" and that's it. No sound or anything. I left it unplugged for 24 hours to no avail.

When powering down, I get a code form the power light flashing. After doing all the relevant searches (netiquette common on most forums), I couldn't find anything. Does anybody have any idea how I can decipher the codes. I'v had no luck finding a service manual anywhere on the web, and was even thinking about gambling on a Samsung manual, since the tv is supposed to be a SPN4235.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
thanks!

I checked my sources for service manuals

http://www.servicemanuals.net/default.aspx

But they do not list it either.

I agree that the display is a rebadged sammy, but that model is not listed as well. BTB 4325 is the sammy number.

I'd contact the store where you purchased the display to find a servicer in your area. If that fails, contact customer service at the Akai website.

Thanks

Doug,
I appreciate your help. I was on the Akai site, and can't believe how little there is on it. I have called a service place. The guy pointed out the code flash (my furnace does the same thing). I also found him listed on the Akai authorized dealer list, so I'll take that as a sign!

Thanks again!

I have the same plasma display, doing the same thing.... Kids where watching it, and suddenly there was no picture.... Don't know if there was a pop as you heard.

What was the end result with your problem? Did you figure out how to fix it?
