HDMI Input issues with Westinghouse LTV-40w1

Hey everyone. I'm new here so excuse me if this has been discussed already.

I have a Westinghouse LTV-40w1 HDC. This unit has a built in dvd player and when I finish watching a dvd and want to go back to HDMI input to watch cable it can't find it in the input menu on my remote. I have to go into the tv set up menu, find "Main source" and then scroll down and reset it to HDMI every time.

For some reason the tv wants to default to HDTV input whenever I leave HDMI for another input like S-video for example. This goes for an external DVD player as well which is set up with YPbPr cables, which means that I have to select YPbPr on my remote to access the dvd player and then when I'm done I have to go through all of that pain again to get it back to HDMI.

Does anybody know if this a prblem with the TV or a "feature" of the tv itself? Thanks in advance.

-m

On many HDTVs you can "skip" or "add" certain inputs in the user menu. Check the operating manual to "add" the inputs you need. I'm not sure if that's what's wrong in your case, but it has been for others.

Please don't PM me with questions that can (and should) be asked in the forum, thanks. Personal Question? Fire away.

A shot in the dark but try pushing the TV button at the top twice in a row. The manual says that button is dual function selecting between SDTV and HDTV. Maybe twice will activate the HDMI.
