DirecTv HD DVR/Westinghouse Volume

When watching tv on the satellite (as opposed to the off air HD broadcast)...the volume is louder than desired on the lowest setting of 1. Is there a fix?...the receiver does not have a setting.

Westinghouse 32" LCD
HR10-250 DirecTV HD DVR

TV Volume too high Westinghouse LTV27W7

Volume too loud at lowest setting for use in bedroom while spouse sleeps. Took TV to warranty repair tech who said everything was fine. No joy from that dude.

Seems there needs to be a 1K ohm resister in line with speaker. I've yet to try external speakers, but that defeats the purpose of a simple wall mounted TV in the bedroom.

Vexed in SD.

I bought Accoustic Research Wireless Headphones (900 Mhz) off ebay for $22.00...they work great...I now own 4 sets of them.
