WS65611 Front Panel and Remote not working

I have a WS65611 and the Front Panel no longer functions. The only working buttons are Power and Device. Device brings up the list of other inputs to go to, but every button I push just scrolls through the list. I am unable to select anything. Volume does not work at all. I'm lucky I still had it on my Satellite and not my Playstation input when all this happened. The remote is unable to do anything either. The TV acts as if it does not recognize it. Called Mitsubishi service...held down menu for 12 sec...no fix. Tried holding power and enter 000 on remote...no fix. Tried System Reset....no fix. Tried unplugging for 1 min....no fix. Service is gonna charge close to $100 just to come out here. Can someone give me options? Is there a way to fix it or disable the front panel and just use my remote? I just need it fixed.

What's the deal with these Front Panels?

Take a look through this recent thead and look at what "Dave" (KrazyK55) did in post #6 that fixed his.
Perhaps this might be a fix for yours also.

EDIT
Here's another thread which is for the same set, WS-65611, that describes similar problems and goes into a little more detail about what he did to fix his.
"I went home and pulled the front panel off and disconnected the board. I then blew out each button on the board with some compressed air, then I reconnected it and turned the TV on and pressed buttons till I got a response from the TV."

Sounds to me like the culprit in most of these faulty Front Panels is simply stuck/dirty keys.

btw...if you go to Search and enter "Front Panel" and highlight the Mitsubishi Forum, you'll get a few more threads that you can peruse (like that one I added above).

Good luck.

Thank you

I don't know who sat around and decided, "I think I'll run my fingers across the buttons briskly for awhile", but it worked. The weirdest thing I've ever had to do to fix an electronic. I can't thank you enough for pointing me in the right direction for answers.

lol...yours might be the quickest resolvement to a problem we've ever had around here.

Ok, here's my feeling. You've "unstuck" one or more of the keys...while in the "stuck" position, the key was activated and probably cancelled out the correct functioning of your remote and other functions. Now ALL the keys are "cleared".
Ok, that being said...I've got to believe it's only a "temporary" fix.
Why? Over time and much use of the keys, "stuff" gets around and inside the key positions (e.g. you're eating a sandwich, mayo or peanut butter on your fingers and you go over to use the Front Panel...nuff said?) causing them to slowly lose their ability to function correctly until the Front Panel no longer functions at all.

One of our resident "experts" like lcaillo could better explain this a lot better than I am I'm sure.

Anyhoo, what happened to cause your Front Panel to go into faulty mode could probably happen again at any time (or not). So, think about going further and perhaps removing the Front Panel and do a thorough cleaning around all those key position.

Great that you got it working for now though....good job!
