DVD players with scaling capabilities

I experience Full Mode Lock with my RCA F38310 widescreen tv when playing unenhanced DVDs on my progressive scan Samsung DVD player. I have several classic DVD movies that are unenhanced, and I want to watch them as they were meant to be seen. The Panasonic RP91 DVD player has a feature called "scaling" which allows you to compensate for unenhanced DVDs and overcome Full Mode Lock, but locally it is being sold for $700. Are there any other DVD players out there that have this feature or something similar at a more attractive price? Thanks for any help you can give me.
