Ok guy's I have a older Sony player and looking at getting the DVP-NS725 which is one of the newer players that just came out replaceing the DVP-NS715! How is the DVP-NS725P is it a good player what abou the progessive side of it from reading the documentation on the player it says it has this new "Conversion Modes" which are "Progressive Auto",Progressive Video",Progressive Film"! Iam looking at getting this player just want to hear from some other user's!

Please look at this website about what players to look at. Also you might consider getting a Panasonic. Im not knocking Sony but Panasonic has had the best DVD players the last 2 years running.............

Thanks for the info they did not have bench marks on that modle but I have never had any issue's with Sony players befor! Again thanks for the info!

They did have my old NS700P on the 2001 shootout which is the grandfather I guess you could say to the 725 that your looking at........... Again not saying Sony is bad but Id look at the Pannys because of the video processor they use is better then what Sony uses.............

Just got my player and just watch a little bit of Star Wars Episode 2 and WOW!! Like watching a hey new moive on Progessive Scan player very imperseded with the picture plus the sound settings ect!!

I just recently replaced my Sony NS715P with the Panasonic RP-62 (with the Sage\Faroudja chipset) and while the difference is not mind-numbing, it is appreciated!
The Sony got relegated to the bedroom and matches up quite nicely with my Sony KV-27FV17!

Yeah the 725 replace the 715 and has better technology too it than what the 715 had! Overall alot better player!!
