Powerstrip 780-line computer output?

I've got a Compaq Presario laptop hooked up to the RGB input of my Panasonic PT-50LC13 LCD projection TV. This works fine except that the laptop's output resolution is 1024x768, which gets downsampled to fit within the HDTV's 720-line screen. If I switch the laptop to 800x600 mode, it gets upsampled to 720 lines.

What I'd like to do is set up the laptop to output a 960x720 screen, which would fit the HDTV screen perfectly, but is a non-standard Windows video mode. PowerStrip looks like it could do the job, but I can't figure how to program the video settings. Anyone here know how to do this?
