can Progressive Scan DVD use Svideo input?

I'm interested in the Sharp PG-M20X.

1900 Lumens
Contrast 1000:1
3yr warranty
16:9 and 4:3
1024x768

$2100

It only has one DVI, one Svideo and one rca type Video connection.

My PC, I was thinking, would use the DVI.

But, will my progressive scan DVD player work well using the Svideo in? I've never attempted that.

No and Yes If you connect it via S-Vid you can use it, but not the progressive capabilities. Progressive will only work through RGB(component) connections with the exception of 2 players that are on the market that have DVI connections.
